Sacrifice

We remeber the sacrifices made by those who put their lives on the line for us. We are grateful that many survived, and we shed a tear for those who paid the ultimate price. May we never forget their devotion, their selflessness for great causes.

More importantly, we remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who paid a price He did not owe - to free us from a debt we could not pay.

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

Hymm: Old Rugged Cross

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old rugged cross where the dearest
And the best for a world of lost sufferers was slain

Refrain: So I'll cherish that old rugged cross,
till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it someday for a crown.

O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wonderous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left his glory above,
to bear it to dark Calvalry.
(Refrain)

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wonderous beauty I see,
For t'was on that old cross Jesus suffered and died
To pardon and sactify me.
(Refrain)

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true,
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then he'll call me someday to my home far away,
Where his glory forever I'll share.
(Refrain)
