Outreach

Each fall we are blessed with and welcome the presence of Montana Tech students. Early in December, usually during their 'finals' week, the 55 plus, our senior members, make and deliver to their residences, wonderful gift bags full of fruit, homemade cookies and candies. Our Senior Luther Leaguers have enjoyed the inspiration and leadership of some of these students.

We have fostered a special ministry to residents at the Dakota House and other developmentally disabled adults. They have a Sunday School class each week, worship with us and provide special music a few times each year.
Throughout the year, our Special Needs Offerings are designated for the Butte Rescue Mission, Gideons, Butte Food Bank and emergencies of families and individuals.

In an effort to extend our ministry, we participate in the rotation with other area churches to provide worship services to The Montana Chemical Dependency Center, Evergreen Butte Health and Rehabilitation and the Butte Convalescent

The FISH Pantry (Food is Sharing Hope) is maintained by our members to help hungry people in our community. We work jointly with the Butte Emergency Food Bank and the Butte Rescue Mission for more extensive needs.

The Adult Inquiry Class is offered each fall to anyone interested in studying Christianity from a Lutheran perspective or to those who wish to be baptized or confirmed. Class participants are under no obligation to join our congregation. This class is also open to current members and taught by Pastor Borge.

The ELCA World Hunger Appeal is a focus of our congregation. We provide information and opportunities for giving to help eliminate world hunger.
Gold Hill Lutheran Church also supports the missionary, outreach and instructional ministries of our Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, ELCA.
